Lotemax Gel is indicated for the treatment of eye inflammation following surgery. This medication is an eye drop suspension designed to reduce inflammation and ease the symptoms in the eye. As it is, it is used in low doses directly where it is needed; its action is only at this place.

Ingredients in Lotemax Gel

The active ingredient in Lotemax is loteprednol etabonate. Each milliliter contains 5 mg (0.5%) of loteprednol etabonate.

Inactive ingredients include disodium edetate, glycerol, povidone, purified water, and tyloxapol. Benzalkonium chloride (0.01%) is added as a preservative. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid are used to adjust the pH.

How to Use Lotemax Gel?

Use Lotemax Gel as directed by your healthcare provider. Wash your hands before applying Lotemax to your eyes. For Lotemax eye gel, invert the closed bottle and shake it once to fill the tip before use. Apply 1-2 drops of Lotemax into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 4 times daily.
