About Dovobet Ointment

Uses and Benefits of Dovobet Ointment

Dovobet Ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of psoriasis plaques on the body. It should be applied for up to 4 weeks. Dovobet Ointment should not be used on the face.

Ingredients in Dovobet Ointment

The active ingredients in Dovobet Ointment are calcipotriol and betamethasone dipropionate. Inactive ingredients include α-tocopherol, butylhydroxytoluene, white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, and polyoxypropylene-11-stearyl ether.

How to Use Dovobet Ointment?

Follow your doctor’s prescription exactly.

Apply Dovobet Ointment to the affected skin areas once a day for up to 4 weeks. The maximum daily dose is 15 g per day or 100 g per week of Dovobet Ointment and/or any other products containing calcipotriol. Do not treat more than 30% of your total body surface area.

To use the ointment, remove the cap and check the aluminum seal before using it for the first time. Use the other end of the cap to pierce the seal. Gently rub the ointment onto the affected skin. Please wash your hands afterward to avoid getting it on your face. No special dressing or cover is needed. If the ointment accidentally spreads to healthy skin, wash it off immediately. Dovobet Ointment should not be used on your face, if it accidentally contacts your face, wash it off. Do not apply Dovobet Ointment to large areas of damaged skin, skin folds, or under airtight dressings, as this could increase your risk of side effects.

If using Dovobet Ointment together with Dovonex cream, ointment, or scalp solution, the total combined dose should not exceed 15 g per day or 100 g per week. For example, if you use 60 g of Dovobet Ointment in a week, do not exceed 40 mL of Dovonex scalp solution during that week.

In case of overdose, contact a healthcare provider, hospital, or Poison Control Center immediately, even if there are no symptoms.

If you forget to use Dovobet Ointment, apply it as soon as you remember, then continue as usual.
