Tazorac Cream (tazarotene) is indicated for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis in adults. The 0.1% strength is also used to treat acne vulgaris in adults and children 12 years and older.

It is not known if Tazorac Cream is safe and effective for plaque psoriasis in children under 18 years or for acne vulgaris in children under 12 years.

Ingredients in Tazorac Cream (tazarotene)

The active ingredient in Tazorac Cream is tazarotene. Inactive ingredients include benzyl alcohol 1%, carbomer 1342, carbomer homopolymer type B, edetate disodium, medium-chain triglycerides, mineral oil, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sodium thiosulfate, and sorbitan monooleate.

How to Use Tazorac Cream (tazarotene)?

Follow your doctor’s prescription exactly.

Apply Tazorac Cream once daily in the evening. Avoid contact with your eyes, eyelids, and mouth. If the cream gets in your eyes, rinse well with water. Contact your doctor if irritation does not go away.

Wash your hands after applying Tazorac Cream.

If you are using Tazorac Cream for plaque psoriasis, make sure your skin is dry before applying if you shower or bathe beforehand. You may use a moisturizer at least 1 hour before applying the cream. Apply a thin layer only to psoriasis lesions.
