Priligy contains dapoxetine as the active ingredient. Each tablet contains either 30 mg or 60 mg of dapoxetine as a hydrochloride salt. The inactive ingredients in the medication include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate in the tablet core. The tablet coating includes lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), triacetin, Iron Oxide Black (E172), and Iron Oxide Yellow (E172).
How to Take Priligy (dapoxetine)?
Follow your doctor’s prescription exactly.
Take one tablet with a full glass of water. Swallow it whole without chewing, as it has a bitter taste. You can take it with or without food. Start with a 30 mg tablet, 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. Your doctor may increase the dose to 60 mg if needed and if you don’t experience side effects like dizziness. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine is not for daily use. Take it only when you plan to have sexual activity.
Who Should Not Use Priligy (dapoxetine)?
Do not take the medication at the same time as any of the following medicines: monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), thioridazine, other antidepressants, lithium, linezolid, tryptophan, St. John’s wort, tramadol, or migraine medications. If you have taken any of these, wait 14 days after stopping them before starting Priligy. After stopping the medication, wait 7 days before taking any of these medicines.
Also, do not take Priligy with certain medicines for fungal infections, including ketoconazole and itraconazole, certain medicines for HIV, including ritonavir, saquinavir, nelfinavir, and atazanavir, antibiotics like telithromycin, or nefazodone. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
