The active ingredient in Keflex is cephalexin. Inactive ingredients include FD&C Red No. 40, Imitation Guarana Flavour, Methylcellulose, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sucrose Fine Granulated, and Sucrose Silicone in the 125 mg/5 mL solution. The 250 mg/5 mL solution contains FD&C Yellow No. 6, Imitation Guarana Flavour, Methylcellulose, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sucrose Fine Granulated, and Sucrose Silicone.
How to Use Keflex Suspension (Cephalexin)?
Follow your doctor’s prescription exactly.
For adults, the usual dose of Keflex is 1 g per day, divided into doses every 6 hours. The total adult dose may range from 1 to 4 g per day.
For children, the recommended daily dose is 25 to 50 mg/kg, also divided into doses every 6 hours.
If you miss a dose, take Keflex as soon as you remember, then continue with your regular schedule.
