About Eurax Cream

Uses and Benefits of Eurax Cream

Eurax Cream is indicated for the treatment of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei). It is also used as a symptomatic treatment of pruritic skin.

Ingredients in Eurax Cream

The active ingredient in Eurax Cream is crotamiton.

Inactive ingredients include methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), phenylethyl alcohol, glycerol, triethanolamine, sodium lauryl sulphate, ethylene glycol monostearate, stearyl alcohol, strong ammonia solution, stearic acid, hard paraffin, white beeswax, purified water, and perfume. The perfume contains geraniol, citronellol, coumarin, benzyl alcohol (0.0187%), benzyl benzoate (0.0047%), citral, d-limonene, eugenol, and linalool.

How to Use Eurax Cream?

Follow your doctor’s prescription exactly.

Use Eurax Cream only on your skin and never swallow it. If using the lotion, shake it well before application.

For scabies treatment, take a bath or shower, dry thoroughly, and then apply a thin layer of cream from your chin to your toes. Be sure to cover skin folds, areas between your fingers and toes, and the soles of your feet.

Trim your fingernails and apply the cream under them using a separate toothbrush, which should be discarded after use.

Reapply the medication 24 hours later as directed. Wash your clothes, towels, and bedding in hot water or have them dry cleaned to kill mites.

Take a bath 48 hours after the final application to remove the medication from your skin.

For other itchy skin conditions, apply a thin layer to the affected areas and gently massage it into the skin as directed by your healthcare provider. Avoid using the cream on your face, eyes, mouth, vagina, or broken skin.

Do not leave the cream on your skin for longer than prescribed, and do not reuse the toothbrush used for applying the cream under your nails.

Who Should Not Use Eurax Cream?

Do not use the cream if you are allergic to crotamiton or any other ingredients in the cream, or who manifest a primary irritation response to topical medications.
