Azor (Amlodipine/Olmesartan) Indication

Azor and Amlodipine/Olmesartan (generic option for Azor) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains a combination of Amlodipine and Olmesartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blockers that work by relaxing the muscles of the heart and blood vessels. Olmesartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.

Storage

Store Azor (Amlodipine/Olmesartan) at room temperature. Keep this drug away from moisture and heat. Do not expose pets or children to this drug.

Precaution

  1. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes while using Azor (Amlodipine/Olmesartan) unless your doctor tells you to.
  2. Tell your doctor if you have any conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, congestive heart failure, if you are vomiting or having diarrhea, or if you have recently had a heart attack.
  3. Do not use Azor (Amlodipine/Olmesartan) without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk and can harm a nursing baby.
  4. Before taking this drug, tell your doctor about any prescription and non prescription drugs that you use – especially if you are using a heart medication, potassium supplements, diuretics, or other medications that lower blood pressure.

Warnings

If you are taking a beta-blocker drug like Blocadren, Corgard, Inderal, Normodyne, Tenormin, Toprol, Trandate, or Zibeta, do not suddenly stop using the medication without first talking to your doctor.

You may need to use less and less before you stop taking the medication entirely.  Stopping a beta-blocker too fast can cause serious heart problems.

Avoid getting up suddenly from a sitting or lying position when taking this drug. Get up slowly and steady yourself. You may feel dizzy.
