What is Vermox /Mebendazole used for?

Vermox is an anti-worm medication. This treats infections such as whipworm, roundworm, hookworm and others. It is also used to treat conditions caused by a combination of these worms.

How should Vermox /Mebendazole be stored?

How should I take Vermox/Mebendazole ?

Take this medication exactly as it has been prescribed to you by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. You may swallow, chew, or crush your pill and mix it with food in order to take it easier. Take the medication for as long as you have been prescribed to even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have been cured. It can take up to 3 days of treatment to remove the worm. The length of time till the infection is cured is susceptible to different bodily conditions such as how quickly your digestive system works, or how resistant the worm is to the medication.

When should Vermox /Mebendazole not be taken?

If you have previously experienced an allergic reaction with the use of this medication do not take this medication. If you are pregnant do not use this medication as it may be harmful to unborn babies. Children under the age of 2 should not take this medication unless directed to by a health care professional.

What precautions should I follow when taking Vermox /Mebendazole ?

Fasting, laxatives, and purging will not improve your condition. Your close family or other contacts may require treatment depending on the worm and the closeness of contact with the other person. If you believe you or someone close to you may have overdosed seek immediate emergency medical attention.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Vermox /Mebendazole ?

There are certain medications which may interfere with Vermox. Inform your doctor what medications you are taking to ensure that the combinations of medications are safe. To prevent from getting this condition again you must clean linens, towels, pajamas, clothing, and the toilet on a daily basis.

Serious side effects: Severe allergic reaction (if this occurs seek immediate medical attention).

Common side effects: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, or a fever.
