Lacrilube SOP Ointment
Lacrilube is used to treat dry eyes. Lacrilube is an eye lubricant which surrounds the eye in a layer of tear-like moisture to prevent dryness and to relieve dry eyes.
Lacrilube is to be stored at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F, 15 and 30 degrees C. Lacrilube should be stored away from moisture and light in a tightly sealed container. Do not store Lacrilube in the bathroom and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions before taking Lacrilube. Especially any of the following: If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy; If you are taking any prescription or nonprescription, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement; If you are allergic to medicines, foods, or other substances.
Other medicines may interact with Lacrilube. However if any Lacrilube ointment is absorbed into the blood, the risk of the medicine interacting with another medicine is low.
Patient Family Information : Lacrilube should be used only as directed by a doctor. Verify exact dosing instructions by checking with the label.General use requires you to first wash your hands. Use your index finger to pull the lower eyelid away from your eye. Then squeeze a thin strip of Lacrilube ointment into the eye socket. Next close your eyes gently for 1 – 2 minutes. Wash your hands thoroughly and wipe the applicator tip clean with a dry tissue. In order to prevent contamination of the medicine, do not touch the applicator to your eye or any surface.If you miss a dose of Lacrilube, use it as soon as possible unless it is around the time of your next dose, in which case skip the missed dose and continue on with the regular dosing schedule Do not exceed 1 dose at one time.
Lacrilube should not be taken without a prescription by a licensed health care professional. Do not use lacrilube if you are allergic to any ingredients in the product.
Sever Side Effects : There are side effects to all medicines, however not all patients experience side effects with Lacrilube. The most common side effect of Lacrilube is blurred vision.
